Wander over here to read about our house fire that shaped a young author’s mind. Never mind his disparaging remarks about my over-zealous love for the English language and how I tried to impart that appreciation to the young minds in our house. It seems the fire was more successful than the film!

After being disappointed by Netflix, I found The Story of English on YouTube, starting here. I think it’s time for Nate to pay his dues and sit through it.

Joffre and his mom (who had a master’s degree in linguistics) LOVE that documentary and made me watch it as well.It is interesting but I think I would have been a lot more interested in the fire myself. And boys are such pyromaniacs.
That Story of English series is 10-15 hours long. I watched it back in the 80s on PBS
