So – yesterday I was going through our pictures of our trip to Holland in June so that I could put up a very delinquent post on our family blog. In doing so I ran across this picture which cracks me up extensively. Somehow it just seems so appropriate. I love Hero there in the middle – summing up “The Merkles do Amsterdam!” And don’t I just look like I’m plotting something extremely nefarious?
Yep…definitely crack-up inducing!
I guess the question that begs to be asked is, “WERE you planning something extremely nefarious???” ๐
How fun! You definitely look like you’re plotting. Maybe gleefully anticipating stunning multitudes of European bystanders by how many kids you have!
I don’t know if Holland is like Germany in that regard, but when I visited some relatives over there I was surprised to find that many of my dad’s cousins had no kids, and those who did only had one or two.
This has nothing to do with this post, but I wasn’t sure if you’d see it if I left a comment on an old post: I was going to enter for the skirty over on your Amoretti blog, but it’s not open for non bloggers…..
Wowzers. This makes me border-line jealous. I’ve always imagined going back to Europe with my husband someday, but now I see how fun it would be to take the kids. ๐
Joanne – so sorry about that! I didn’t notice that was the setting I had it on . . . I think it’s fixed now! (And Megan, now I’m afraid I made you sign up for a google account for nothing . . . !)
No worries. Now I will just feel more legitimate.
Thank you!
Natalie: Holland isn’t necessarily like Germany in regard to having few children. My parents were both from large families (Dad had five sisters and Mum three brothers and two sisters.) My cousins’ families are mostly largish as well.
Though of course, I mostly don’t think of six children as a large family, since I’m in a family of ten, and there’s one family in our church with twelve. ๐
