One of the advantages of living up here in the North, besides the long winters, is that mid-May always brings lilacs. Though I am not a romantic, I can recognize one when I see one, and I have to tell you that lilacs are romantic through and through. Look at this picture: they are swooning over their own sweetness!

  1. They are so beautiful they make me smile. 🙂 Thank you for sharing some of that beauty with us.

  2. I have a very naughty cold, and I can’t smell a thing–but I can smell those lilacs all the way in Lynchburg.

  3. OH, I love lilacs. They remind me of being and little girl and of my grandmother. Ours bloom in April and are all faded now unfortunately.

  4. I reckon any flower can look romantic in that pedestal/jug arrangement you’ve got there!

  5. Yep, lilacs are the bomb! The explosion of fragrance can knock you right over! I too am reminded of my childhood at the scent of lilacs. There happened to be a huge lilac bush under my bedroom window and in the spring when the windows were opened the scent of lilac filled my room. Ahhhhhh…

Also, I’d love to know your definition of a romantic. 🙂
